EcoComal designs, manufactures, and sells improved wood stoves, which are designed to minimize the consumption of firewood. In 2016, EcoComal was awarded an Enterprise Marketing Fund (EMF) grant from the Alliance to enhance their consumer-facing marketing activities. Previously, EcoComal partnered with NGOs to sell their products, without directly marketing to potential consumers. Their EMF activities aimed to reach the end-user instead. They aired radio advertisements and designed and constructed a mobile display; this branded vehicle toured through the target region, advertising and demonstrating EcoComal stoves. EcoComal partnered with Conjunto Publicidad, a Guatemalan marketing and communications agency, to develop their marketing plans and produce their creative materials.
