Alliance Research Webinar - Black Carbon: Emerging Evidence from the Field
Please join us on March 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM Washington DC time (Eastern US) for a webinar to showcase Alliance-supported research on cookstoves and black carbon. Dr. Nithya Ramanathan and colleagues will summarize their research project ‘Field Study of Black Carbon Reductions from Use of Improved Cookstoves’.
A collaborative team of investigators from Project Surya, including The Energy Resources Institute, Nexleaf, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography conducted a field study to estimate the relative reductions in black carbon emissions when switching from traditional mud stoves to improved cookstoves in Ashrafpur, a rural Indian village in the Indo-Gangetic plains. A unique feature of this study was the use of innovative technology which uses cell phones to enable automated measurements of aerosols and temperature.
