Akanksha Rai is the India Program Associate for the Clean Cooking Alliance and supports the India Country Representative in Alliance market development activities to facilitate the adoption of clean cooking solutions across India. Akanksha also assists in the Alliance’s Women’s Empowerment Fund Project for Scaling Empowerment of Girls and Women in the Clean Household Energy Sector. Prior to joining the Alliance, Akanksha interned at the Division of Policy and Governance for Health and Well Being at the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she worked on developing a reporting template on the Sustainable Development Goals action for the fifty-three Member States of the European Region. Akanksha also worked for three years on various community outreach and research initiatives to make healthcare accessible and affordable to the rural and urban poor in Varanasi, India. She hold a dual European Masters in Public Health degree from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and the University of Sheffield, UK, and studied at the École des Hautes études en santé Publique (French School of Public Health), Rennes, France.
